Saint Paul, MN – Today, Joel Smith, President and Business Manager of LIUNA Minnesota and North Dakota issued the following statement after the release of Governor Tim Walz’ 2021 proposed budget.
“Governor Walz’ proposal is a fair budget for Minnesota’s working people. It deserves the Legislature’s support. We applaud the Walz Administration’s commitment to providing needed relief to workers and communities who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, while making large corporations and the richest 1 percent pay their fair share in taxes. We are especially supportive of Governor Walz’ proposed increase in the OSHA budget to hire additional OSHA investigators to ensure workers’ safety and health on the job.”
