Campaign Researcher/Marketing Representative

Based in Twin Cities, Minnesota

The Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) Great Lakes Region seeks a Campaign Researcher/Marketing Representative to support initiatives designed to grow union membership and market share, and improve the lives of construction workers in Minnesota, North Dakota and Northwest Wisconsin. The Campaign Researcher/Marketing Representative will be responsible for developing and executing research and organizing campaigns in coordination with fellow organizers and affiliate union staff.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with fellow organizers and affiliate leader and staff to develop and support strategic growth plans
  • Conduct research on industry trends, practices and working conditions, including project tracking and communication with workers, employers, project owners, and community members
  • Produce clear, concise presentations and written materials for internal and external audiences
  • Promote the benefits of unions to construction workers, contractors, project owners, and public officials
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with union members, staff, allies, and nonunion workers
  • Support LIUNA’s Proud Member program, including development and delivery of member education, activist training and engagement opportunities for members
  • Represent the union and perform other tasks as assigned
  • The position will be based in St. Paul but travel for work in other areas may be required

Job qualifications:

  • Team player with solid interpersonal skills who is ready to work for an organization with a proud 120-year history of seeking justice for working people
  • Superior communications skills, including the ability to understand and clearly summarize complex topics for diverse audiences, including construction workers, employers, union leadership, and community allies
  • Superior research skills, including data management and analysis, opposition research
  • At least five years of relevant experience, which must include strategic campaign or equivalent research work
  • High proficiency with common business software tools, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, and slide presentation (Google, Microsoft Office, or equivalent)
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with data management and/or statistical analysis

Compensation: Competitive salary ($95-105K); excellent health and pension benefits; use of a company vehicle.
