Collective Bargaining

Collective bargaining is the foundation of good jobs. LIUNA defends workers' freedom to join together and negotiate for better jobs. Collective bargaining is the foundation of fair wages, safe working conditions, and job security. LIUNA supports our members in negotiating strong contracts, protecting benefits, and standing together to demand better jobs.

Protecting Public Workers in Minnesota

For over fifty years, Minnesota's Public Employment Labor Relations Act (PELRA) has protected public employees' freedom to organize and collectively bargain. Passed in 1971 with bipartisan support, PELRA grants public employees the right to negotiate for wages, hours, and working conditions.

LIUNA represents hundreds of workers who provide critical public services across the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota—from water treatment to road maintenance to essential infrastructure work.

Immigration Reform

LIUNA was founded by immigrants and fights for fair treatment and a clear path to citizenship. Immigrant workers build America and deserve respect and protection. We support Dreamers and TPS workers and fight H-2B and H-2A visa abuse to protect fair wages and jobs. Learn more about LIUNA's immigration priorities.

Voting Rights

Every worker deserves a voice—on the job and at the ballot box. LIUNA supports policies that make voting accessible for working people:

We oppose voter restrictions that make it harder for working people to participate in democracy. When workers can vote, they can hold elected officials accountable and fight for policies that support working families.
