Operating Levy | Spring Lake Park Public Schools ISD #16

The question on the ballot includes two steps:
  • Step 1 increases the operating levy by $550 per student  starting in 2026 with a tax impact of less than $18/month on an average home value of $350K.
  • Step 2 increase the operating levy by an additional $380 beginning in 2029 with no net tax impact ($0/month). The district has timed this to coincide with expiring debt to avoid additional taxes. This will bring the total of the operating levy to $930.
This approach minimizes the impact on taxpayers and generates funding for our schools when it’s needed.

Operating Levies | Shakopee Public Schools ISD #720

  • Question One asks for a tax-neutral operating levy that would provide $5,000,052 in new annual revenue. This is considered tax-neutral because it would replace the $5,160,455 in taxes from construction debt that will be paid off in 2025.

  • Question Two asks for an additional $310 per pupil in operating levy on top of Question One. This would provide an additional $2,500,026 in annual operating revenue and would bring the school district to its maximum operating levy. For an averaged priced home in Shakopee, this would equate to $8.71 a month. Question Two can only pass if Question One also passes.

  • On July 22, the Annandale School Board voted to hold an election for an operating referendum levy funding request on Election Day, November 5, 2024. The proposal on the ballot will ask voters to increase our district’s general education revenue by $750 per pupil for a 10-year term with an inflationary factor. Based on enrollment projections, the new levy will provide approximately $1.6 million additional dollars for the first year with an inflation factor included for years 2-10.

Your Voice Matters: Caucus Night 2026

The 2026 precinct caucuses are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. Plan to arrive at 6:30 p.m.

Why Caucuses Matter?

This is where grassroots democracy starts—neighbors talking to neighbors about what matters in our communities. For union members, caucuses are especially important. Decisions made here could influence our wages, benefits, workplace safety, and collective bargaining rights. When Laborers show up, working people’s voices are stronger.

How to Participate

  1. Attend in person or submit a non-attendee form. Can't make it? Download and submit a non-attendee form below for the political party caucus you wish to participate in.
    1. Democratic/DFL Party
    2. Republican/GOP Party
  2. Run to be a delegate. Represent your precinct and working people at county conventions where platform decisions are made.

  3. Submit pro-worker, pro-jobs resolution(s). Bring or support resolutions create safe, family-sustaining jobs. Click to review and download resolutions.
