Greetings:
As we approach the holiday season, I wish you and your family a happy, healthy, and safe winter break. I'm reflecting on the blessings of our LIUNA family and the stability provided by good union jobs and fulfilling careers, made possible through the collective strength of our union. Thank you for the critical labor you perform with pride and skill at the highest standard.
This time of year can bring added joy, but also added stress. We know that one in five construction workers struggle with mental health issues year-round. Please know that if you or a loved one is struggling with mental health, we're here to help. There is hope and it is okay to talk.
As an eligible participant in your employer-sponsored Employee Assistance Program or the Minnesota and North Dakota Laborers' Health Fund, there are mental health resources available to you and your eligible family members online. Start here: liunaminnesota.org/hope.
I encourage you to take advantage of this support if needed, as well as lean on your union brothers and sisters. People care and we are strongest when we stand together through good times and bad.
Wishing you warmth, wellness, and community this holiday season and always.
In Solidarity,
Joel Smith,
President and Business Manager
